We Highly Value

Commitment

We are committed to the expansion and influence of God’s kingdom.

Integrity

God values integrity, so we consider it key to our relationships with God and each other.

Excellence

We work toward (and can achieve) excellence. It’s in our DNA, as we were created in almighty God’s image.

Servanthood

Jesus exemplified servanthood, so as his disciples, we follow him with the attitude of service to others.

Stewardship

God entrusted us with a role in his kingdom, counting us as faithful. We will give an account to God about all he has given us.

Our Story

Growing up in a Christian family and community, Cherinet was instilled with Christian values and legalistic rules, which he struggled to adhere to. Many of his friends were dedicated Christians who readily obeyed every rule because of the strict family rules and regulations. During their teenage years, they are actively involved in church activities and are highly valued by church leaders for their outstanding work. During High school, things changed, and because of a lack of discipleship, no one continued attending church or thought about spiritual growth during those years in a city far from the village where they grew up. Cherinet was more active during high school because of his new friends and a new church where no one knew his lousy history, but not better spiritually.

During college, he joined the Christian students' fellowship, encountered God, met friends who knew God, and began reading the Bible and learning everything he could about God. Returning to his childhood church, he found a few of his peers still attending, while the rest had backslidden and forsaken the love and dedication to the church that they had known in their youth. This is obviously due to a lack of proper discipleship, and the generation is lost; however, the church still focuses on keeping rules and regulations rather than making believers disciples of Jesus Christ. This is the motivating history behind this vision of making disciple-makers. Since his graduation in 2014, Cherinet has been serving in disciple-making and church-planting ministries, helping believers become disciples who, in turn, can make other disciples. From this journey, he gained experience in disciple-making and church planting.

On the other hand, Yavello was a college lecturer when he encountered passionate students eager to know God more and make him known. And having experienced the same passion in college, he understands the hearts of students pursuing true discipleship and spiritual growth. He also knows one thing that made his heart restless. Despite that, Ethiopia is one of the oldest Christian nations in the World; many tribes are far from the good news. For over a century, missionaries have been coming and working with Ethiopians to spread the good news of Jesus Christ! However, according to World Population Review, only 19% of the total population identifies as evangelical Christians.

The gospel of Jesus Christ has not yet reached 37% of Ethiopians, and one-third of the population is Muslim, with the number increasing over time. For this reason, producing local disciple-makers is the most effective way to reach out to Ethiopians and beyond; above all, equipping believers with the necessary knowledge to witness Christ and engage in discipleship is the most cost-effective way of furthering the Lord's Great Commission among nations. As those disciples will be living and working with their nationals (in every corner of the country), it is the best strategy to reach out to every corner of the country.
